The Topic invites its visitors to watch the musical ‘Avenue Q’
Courtesy of the musical ‘Avenue Q’, which will be performed at the Victoria Eugenia theatre in San Sebastian from the 28th until the 31st of July Two double tickets will be drawn among all the visitors to the Topic Museum and the temporary exhibition that the Tolosa Initiative Centre dedicates to the company Titiriteros de Binefar.
’Avenue Q’ is a show that gets together at stage both puppets and actors. The very same actors and singers that manipulate big puppets inspired on the ones appeared at ‘Sesame Street’ TV show. It is a very particular homage made with loads of humour and with an adult subject matter. That is why the invitations, which are for the show on Sunday the 31st at eight in the evening, are for adults aged sixteen upwards. The musical tells the story of Princeton, a recent graduate that arrives to New York full of dreams and lacking money. Soon he will discover that Avenue Q is the only neighbourhood where he can afford to live in. He will meet there with a varied group of neighbours that will help him to discover the meaning of life.
‘Avenue Q’ has been performed in the United States, Great Britain, Switzerland, Philippines, Israel, Mexico, Russia, France, Hungary, Australia, New Zealand, Brazil, Turkey, Italy and Argentina. In Spain it has been one of the successes of the Madrid musical season. The puppets have been created by the company ‘Muñecos Animados’, who are at the same time the ones behind puppet TV shows such as ‘Los Lunnis’ and also of puppets from the two films dedicated to Mortadelo and Filemon, among other projects. Last year the Topic dedicated one of its temporary exhibitions to this company that is directed by Manuel Roman.
